Semi-aerial photography
Cloud 9 pioneered the concept of semi-aerial photogaphy (also known as high level photography) in the 1980s, and we can draw on our long experience to get the very best results. The system consists of a very robust telescopic mast permanently mounted onto a van. We use the mast to elevate our remote controlled cameras anywhere from 6 to 24 metres high (20 to 80 feet). The image is viewed on a monitor at ground level, and the camera position and lens zoom are then instantly adjusted to achieve exactly the desired framing. The system is completely self-contained, and takes around 15 minutes to set up for the first shot. We use professional format digital cameras, but if you need to shoot on film we will be pleased to do it.

We recently commissioned a new van for our semi-aerial photography, as the previous van had covered 187,000 miles. The new van is the fourth since 1987, and between them they have covered 530,000 miles providing a nationwide photographic service.
